Produce

  • baby arugula5 oz
  • lemon1 piece

Pantry & grains

  • olive oil1 tbsp

Spices

  • Italian seasoning1 tsp
  • salt¼ tsp
  • black pepper¼ tsp

Method

  1. 1

Heat the air fryer to 380°F. Air-fry the frozen meatballs in a single layer for 10-12 minutes, shaking once, until hot in the center and browned at the edges.

  2. 2

While they cook, warm 1 cup marinara with the Italian seasoning in a small saucepan over medium-low heat for 5 minutes, until steaming.

  3. 3

Split the hoagie rolls, leaving one side attached. Toss the cooked meatballs in the warm marinara.

  4. 4

Fill each roll with meatballs and a spoonful of sauce, then top with 2 slices of provolone.

  5. 5

Air-fry the subs at 350°F for 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the edges of the roll are toasted.

  6. 6

Toss the arugula with the olive oil, the juice of the lemon, salt and pepper. Serve alongside the subs.

Kitchen note

Toast the empty rolls for 1 minute in the air fryer first if you want the bread sturdier against the sauce.
