# About WeeklyMealPlans
WeeklyMealPlans answers the question that comes up every week: what's for dinner, and what do we need to buy? Tell the planner who you're cooking for, your budget, how much time you have and what you won't eat, and it gives you a week of dinners with one grocery list sorted by aisle. You don't need an account.
We built it because planning is the tiring part. Cooking on a Tuesday is manageable. Choosing seven dinners that suit everyone and the budget, then writing a list that doesn't send you back for cumin, is what wears people down.
How plans are made
An AI model drafts each week within the limits you set: household, budget, time, diet, avoid list, pantry and cooking effort. It's told to reuse fresh ingredients so less goes to waste.
Your avoid list is a hard rule. We check every drafted dinner against it, including related foods (an avoid list with "shellfish" also rules out shrimp, crab and scallops), and redraft any dinner that fails. That check is a safety net, not a guarantee. AI makes mistakes, and it can't read the label on the jar you buy. If anyone in your home has a food allergy, check every ingredient and package yourself.
Costs are estimates at typical US supermarket prices. Calories and protein are approximate AI estimates. They're good for comparing dinners, but they aren't a receipt or nutrition advice.
How we make money
Planning a week is free. The site pays for itself through affiliate links (grocery and meal-kit partners, kitchen gear, and sometimes another meal-planning app that suits you better), occasional sponsored suggestions such as a meal kit on a hectic week, and Autopilot, our paid plan that remembers your household and sends a fresh plan every week. Paid links and placements are labeled, and none of them decide which dinners go into your plan. The details are in our disclosure.
About the pictures
The illustrations on meal cards are AI-generated artwork. They show the general idea of a dish, not a photo of the recipe as written.
